Think about what you are writing, and how you would react if someone wrote with the same energy you are putting out. A single word can enact a world of difference in your speech.
2. Be Thoughtful
This is a space to exchange ideas, not degrade someone else's. If what you have to say is so controversial to another person's post, don't write it in their comments to argue, make your own post.
3. Agree to Disagree
Read the comments made on this example post:
Post: "God doesn't exist."
- Comment: "What makes you say that?" (Perfect, ask a question that is relevant and engaging)
- Sub-comment: "The evidence surrounding is lackluster." (Perfect, an answer that is direct, and brings no offense or attack)
- Comment: "I agree, believing in nonsense gets you nowhere." (If you agree, leave an upvote, or a supporting comment. Try not to throw in sly comments regarding a different set of beliefs)
- Comment: "You're just too close-minded." (Big red flag. Ask a question instead, or bring a new idea to the table to explain a relevant opposing viewpoint. Please refrain from attacking someone's viewpoints, beliefs, or opinions)
